Dryer Safety Tips - With dryer fires on the rise, what are some ways that you can protect yourself and your family from a dryer fire?

In reality, the steps to a safer home in regards to a dryer fire are pretty simple and logical.

1. Clean the lint trap = Preferably after every use.
2. Clean the inside of the dryer - This area is often forgotten, but the lint trap does not catch everything
3. Check and clean the dryer hose - This is one of the main areas of concern. Lint build-up and heat in this area are a real hazard
4. If you have a gas dryer, check for leaks - A gas leak is an obvious fire hazard, so take the time to have a professional check this periodically.
